Lula Washington's idea is to keep the dream and vision of Ms.Dunham alive in Los Angeles. "Rhumba Trio," one of Dunham's first works, is an energetic dance that Ms. Dunham herself performed for many years. As one of Dunham's dancers, Trina Parks, now a teacher with the Lula Washington Dance School, received special permission from Katherine Dunham to set "Rhumba Trio" on the Lula Washington Dance Theatre. *LWDT would like to give special thanks to Vanoye Aikens, Ricardo Avalos and Trina Parks for their invaluable assistance with this endeavor.

THIS SUMMER
Don't miss LWDT at Lincoln Center Out of Doors in New York City Aug. 16 & 17; and back in the West on Aug. 29 at the REDCAT Theater during the Western Arts Alliance Booking Conference!
