She trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance School in New York City, and holds a Ph.B. from Wayne State University, where she graduated from the Monteith College of Humanities and the College of Education.  She earned an MA in Theater and dance from the University of Detroit.  Godboldo has studied from many Dunham master teachers since she began her training, including Katherine Dunham, Lavinia Williams, Pearl Reynolds, Clifford Fears, Tommy Gomez, Talley Beatty, Lucille Ellis, Joan Peters and Vanoye Aikens--among others. She is currently authoring a teaching manual for dance education.
